Growing up
with Books
This program initiated by Lee County Library
System and its partners helps parents of
pre-school children understand state-wide
school readiness standards used to determine
whether children are ready to enter
Kindergarten.
The library along with the
Early Learning Coalition of SW Florida,
Childcare of Southwest Florida and the
School District of Lee County’s Early
Childhood Learning Services, developed and
distributed packets in English and Spanish
that contain storybooks, activities and
helpful information to assist parents in
teaching these skills. Children get to keep
the books and get new packets to keep
learning.
