The East County Regional Library, in partnership with the Holocaust Museum of Southwest Florida, is pleased to host the Museum's authentic Holocaust-era Boxcar from November 22 through November 30, 2008.

Visitors are welcome to step into the boxcar for a tour - which features 12 panels illustrating the devastation of the Holocaust along with other past and present genocides. A flat screen TV shows a two minute continuous loop of historic footage of deportations.

The boxcar will be available during regular library hours of operation:

Student Volunteer Orientation

Amy Macera, Holocaust Museum of Southwest Florida Education Director, will present a Volunteer Orientation for students ages 14 to 18 who are interested in volunteering as a tour guide for the Holocaust - Era Boxcar Exhibit. Students must complete a volunteer application, signed by a parent, or guardian before volunteering for the event.
