Before Storytime Tips For Parents and Caregivers

  • Discuss storytime with your child before you come, explaining that there will be stories, books, fingerplays, puppets, songs, and other children.
  • Before the first day of storytime, visit the library and meet the library staff.
  • Allow for bathroom time before storytime.
  • Come early! Young children are easily distracted, and latecomers disrupt activities.
  • Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early.
  • During Preschool Storytime, please stay nearby in the library building.
  • Do not leave the library.
