Sheldon Kaye

Sheldon has
witnessed the
growth of the
library industry
over the past
three decades in
key leadership
roles.
He was the
Executive
Director of the
Portland Public
Library in Maine
for 18 years
before coming to
Lee County.
During his
tenure there, he
helped the
Portland library
system
strengthen its
programming
base, expand its
audiovisual
services,
restore its
much-loved
Burbank Branch
and ensure that
its constituents
remained at the
focal point of
services.
Sheldon is
especially fond
of audiobooks.
He has reviewed
and judged
audiobooks and
even served as
an adviser to
the founder of
AudioFile
magazine
He holds a
master's in
library science
from Simmons
College in
Boston, Mass.
and a bachelor's
from Goddard
College in
Plainfield, Vt.
