The Lee
County Reading Festival 2001 Presents The Lee County Reading Festival invites student writers, poets, and songwriters to participate in its Writing to the Extreme Writing Contest. Entries will be judged in two separate levels, middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12). Students may enter original work in the following categories*: Poetry (50 lines maximum) *All material must be suitable for general audiences Contest Guidelines:
Due Date Friday, February 3, 2001 Judging: A Lee County Reading Festival panel including teachers, library staff, and community members will judge the contest. A local band will judge the lyrics. The top ten winners in each category will have their work published in the Lee County Reading Festival?s Writing to the Extreme booklet. The winners will receive a copy of the booklet. All writers submitting entries will be acknowledged in the booklet. Prizes: The winners in each category will receive a
gift certificate from 1st Prize ? $50.00 Copyrights will be retained by the creators of their work. However, by entering the contest, all contestants automatically grant license to The News-Press and the Lee County Library System to use their works for promotional purposes. Contestants agree to donate and forfeit any funds generated by such promotions to the Foundation for the Lee County Library System. Mail entries to:
