Panel discussion on growth and the environment in Lee County and how it relates to growth issues presented in “A Land Remembered.”  Panelists include Wayne Daltry (Director of the Lee County Smart Growth Initiative), Matt Bixler (Communications Chair for the Babcock Preservation Partnership and Environmental Policy Specialist for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida), and Matthew Fisher (Sales & Marketing Manager for EarthMark Companies' Environmental Division).  Ryan Warner from WGCU Public Media will be the panel moderator.  This event will be broadcast as a segment of Gulf Coast Live on WGCU 90.1 FM.

Lee County Library Program:  Meet Author Robert Macomber
Thursday, February 24 @ 2 p.m.                       
North Fort Myers Public Library

Author Robert Macomber won the 2003 Patrick D. Smith Award for the Best Historical Novel of Florida for his book "At the Edge of Honor."  During this program, Macomber talks on "Blood Money: Action and Intrigue in the Caribbean during the Civil War."  This is the same talk the well-known author and lecturer on maritime history gave to the passengers aboard the Queen Mary 2 when he was the Guest Author on her voyage to Rio de Janiero for Carnival.
